Ogden House Studio founder, Michael Brotman’s passion for furniture & design began in the early 1990’s while handcrafting custom cabinetry and furniture in St. Paul, MN. It was here that he developed his keen eye for detail and was able to hone his skills working with some of the most skilled craftspeople in the industry.  Since this time, he has managed the design side of the process as both a Director and VP of Design with industry leading companies such as Room & Board, Anthropologie, and Arhaus Furniture.

The ethos behind Ogden House Studio is centered on capturing beauty from nature, using natural, sustainable mediums such as wood, metal, fabric, leather, and stone. These materials are transmuted into designs that are elegant, functional, timeless and built to last a lifetime.  Inspired by travels around the world, his passion for unique and well designed furniture has only grown. Having the privilege of meeting and learning from many skilled artisans along the way, Michael has been able to gain an understanding of unique materials and discover new techniques that inspire his own, original designs.

Recognizing a void in the marketplace for well designed, unique, well made furniture, Michael returned to his roots in September 2022, founding a custom furniture and design studio just outside of Philadelphia. With a focus on craftsmanship and celebrating the inherent natural beauty of wood, his pieces are created one at a time, using time honored joinery methods.
